The Larger Service System – This study will analyze health and service system needs and utilization, as wess as the bariers to health care and service access in 10 to 16-year olds with severe developmental disabilities.
This study will add an in-depth look at health care and service utilization to fill out the briefer information available about services covered in our broader survey and “Report Card”.It will provide an in-depth examination of the specific health care and service needs of their child/family, the degree to which the available health care and services meet their needs, and barriers to health care and service access. We will learn about the demographic predictors of met and unmet service needs, which will have important implications for policy, practice and further research across Canada.
Participants: Parents of children and youth aged 10 to 16 years with severe DD and complex needs will comprise the sample.
